The water taps are now on! And water containers are provided.

Access

Access for all huts is via a key code box, you will receive an email with the key code the day before at 10:00am, please check your junk folder. You will also receive a reminder at 07:00am the day of your booking. For anyone who makes a last minute booking then you will just receive the one email at 07:00am. - don't forget to check your junk folder.

Arrival time is strictly from 0930 (you can arrive later!) There is no departure time but the car park gets locked each night so please check the times when you arrive.

Key code boxes are located up the steps of the hut on the inside banister/balcony railings. (If in the unlikely event you lock the key inside the beach hut there are emergency key boxes underneath the huts, these open with the same code)

We check all huts daily however If you have a hut booked for more than one day it will not be checked in between - if you run out of gas/supplies please message us!

Water containers are provided and taps for water are located in the car park, at hut number 41 and at hut number 138.

Please remember a tea towel, ALL washing up must be done and put away on departure.

Parking

Having a beach hut booked does not guarantee you a parking space. There is a pay and display car park on beach road, but it fills up very quickly in the summer months, usually by 09:30/10:00 it is full ** and you will be re-directed to the overspill carpark in Freeman Street, you can then either walk which takes about 40 minutes or take the Holkham bus there are also other additional car parks in Wells town and it is approx. 1 mile from here to the beach. For more information on parking please visit.

Beach address: Beach Road, Wells, Wells-Next-The-Sea NR23 1DR.

Beach Road Car Park opening times:

October - March - 0600 - 1800

April - September - 0600- 2100

The car park on beach road during peak months often doesn't allow vehicles larger than 2m high, it is best to call Pinewoods directly ahead to check (01328 710439) The car park is pay and display and accepts cards & contactless.

This is now the case across most of the car parks in Wells too, if you plan to travel in a vehicle that is above 2m high we would advise researching where to park before you arrive or make some further enquiries with the car park operatives.

** No refunds will be given if you cannot get parked. In the summer months Wells town also gets very busy so we would advise arriving as early as possible.

Beach Hut Etiquette

We sadly are experiencing some issues with privately owned beach huts who haven’t taken to well to huts around them being rented. With this in mind if you arrive and have no neighbours it’s possible that they will be arriving later so please make sure no equipment is obstructing their steps/ spilling out near them and to respect the other terms which include no speakers (even if it’s quiet we do not allow speakers at all), keeping dogs under control and noise levels from the group appropriate to a family environment. In order to continue offering rentals we need to try and keep a harmonious relationship between owners and renters. We really appreciate your cooperation.

Finding your beach Hut...

Your booking confirmation will show you the date and hut you have booked, these occasionally go to junk so do check after making a booking.

From the Car Park on Beach Road -

Boardwalk: Step free access

If you are after Huts 2 or 11 you might find it easier to approach them from the boardwalk. This is step free access - To the left of the beach cafe is a walkway which will take you straight onto the beach.

Staircase 1:

Opposite the red bins at the far end of the car park is the first set of steps, this takes you straight onto the beach. For huts numbered 1-60 we would recommend these steps.

Staircase 2:

Head through the pinewoods, walk to the end of the car park, go past the pond on your left walking parallel to the beach to the second set of steps, this will take you out onto the beach at hut number 90. Turn left if your hut number is greater than this.

Ramp 3: Step free access

At the end of the pinewoods adjacent to the toilet block is a ramp (note: drinking water tap is just at the bottom of the ramp) This takes you out at hut 138 so either head left or right depending on hut number you have booked. From here you can also continue through the pinewoods to the end of the row of huts, this is the easiest route to get to hut number 189 and 205.

From the Town Centre - Approximately a 45 Minute Walk

There are multiple car parks in Wells and if you fancy walking to the beach you can walk on the footpath starting from the Quay. It is just under a mile.

Please note when the car park at the beach is full you will be re-directed to the overspill car park on freeman street which means you will have to walk from the Quay.

Beach Map

Do have a look at the map to give a better understanding of beach hut locations and where the toilets/ taps and parking is.

Beach Facilities

There is no electricity, fridges or running water at the huts, there is a water container provided and water taps can be found in the car park, by the lifeguard hut by beach hut 41 and near beach hut 138. There are public toilets at the car park along with The Beach Café and in an ice cream van in the summer.

Each hut is provided with a single ring gas stove and canister, stoves are only permitted for boiling water for drinking and washing up.

For a full list of what your hut provides have a look under Our Huts and select your booked hut.
